A global manufacturing firm needed to consolidate data from seven instances of their supply chain system into a new solution in less than six weeks.

The client was a $17 billion global manufacturing conglomerate.

The Challenge
The client was implementing a new supply chain solution. The source data was in seven instances of a legacy system, in addition to several other disparate legacy sources.

The client had contracted with another organization to perform the data migration. Their team had been working on the data migration for over nine months. Six weeks before the "go-live" date the team announced that they could not meet the target date.

Our consulting firm partner brought us in to see if we could rescue the project.

The Approach
The solution was based on Applaud's data migration and cleansing capabilities.

We began by using Applaud to extract, profile and analyze data from the legacy systems. The consulting firm used the facts learned from profiling and analysis to further tune the data mapping specifications and gain agreement for the migration objectives with the end-client. We then used Applaud to develop transformation and load components to populate the tables in the new system.

The Success
The data migration project was a huge success. In the end, one of our Applaud experts accomplished in six weeks what the prior team was unable to accomplish in nine months.
