"Bottom-Up" analysis (shown in the screen above) enables users to select a data element and then click "Where Used" to view a list showing exactly where (and how) the data element is referenced. The list is organized by type of use to make it easy to manage (i.e., the list is divided into sections - defined in database table, extracted from data source, used in calculation, result of calculations, used for selection, used for output, etc.). Clicking on a referenced component displays the component specifications. Clicking "Where Used" again displays every reference to the component. Any number of concurrent "Where Used" requests are supported, making it easy to understand the complete impact of a proposed change. |
